You probably clicked here because you think the environment is cool. Well, you’re right. And we hope to keep it that way. Here are the first steps we’ve taken to start saving the earth (kind of like Captain Planet).

For starters, we’re running the bus on B20 biodiesel, straight from Detroit’s own Clean Emissions Fluids. Through our use of biodiesel, our emissions are far lower than those of a standard gas or diesel engine. Based on government testing, biodiesel emissions cause 50% less harm to the ozone and our health, compared to standard diesel fuel.

But as we remember from our school days (and our evil 9th grade history teacher), 50% is still a failing grade. So we’ve partnered up with CarbonFund.org to completely neutralize our carbon footprint. Through CarbonFund.org, we’re helping to fund the research and development of renewable energy.

In addition, we’ve also partnered with The Greening of Detroit to plant a minimum of 1000 trees in Detroit in 2010. Through the “Seed Box” program, Detroit youth will be taught how to grow their own trees and plants with seed boxes donated for every hour of private rental through Night Move transportation services.
