Happy almost-the-weekend, Night Movers!

…Speaking of “Night Moves” and the Night Move, check out the video from our Winter Blast karaoke contest at our contest page, and vote for your choice of winner by emailing voting@theightmove.com. How’s your week going so far? I’m sure that with tomorrow being Friday and all, it’s about to get WAY better, no? Well, we’ve got a few juicy tidbits to share that will make your weekend EVEN SWEETER — can you handle it?
If you’re looking for an excuse to ride the Night Move this weekend, be sure to check out the following:

  • Ride the Night Move downtown Friday night to go watch the Wings destroy the Ducks, because after all, this is Hockeytown, is it not? Take the Night Move downtown at its new 6pm start time, then hop on the People Mover at its super-close Greektown stop. Take the People Mover over to Joe Louis (8 stops). The People Mover ride will only take a few minutes, AND it’ll be free — don’t forget to ask your Night Move driver for a FREE People Mover token!
  • Check out Rent at the Detroit Opera House both Friday and Saturday nights — don’t miss it; the show closes this weekend! Take the Night Move downtown and grab the People Mover in Greektown, and then take that over to Broadway (just 2 stops!).
  • If you haven’t tried Taste Pizzabar yet, now’s your chance. Take the People Mover to Times Square (4 stops) and taste Taste for yourself.
  • Ride down to check out the Detroit Boat Show until 9pm on Saturday. You can take the People Mover there too! Jump on the People Mover in Greektown with your free token, and ride to Cobo (9 stops). It’s that easy!

Looking to get anywhere else downtown? The People Mover Station Guide and ultra handy Interactive Station Map are SUPER helpful. If you’re a seasoned vet then you already know this, but for those of you who aren’t, the Night Move + People Mover are all you need to get anywhere you want — and it’s EASY (just like we like our… transportation).

Mark your calendar: the next “Culinary Road Trip” from the Night Move and Taste-full Tours: March 14, “A Cook’s Tour,” for all you wannabes. Book now before it fills up, on the Upcoming Tours page of their website.

Also mark your calendar for St. Patrick’s Day, Tuesday, March 17 (The Night Move is green every day!), and the Tigers’ Opening Day, Friday, April 10 (Take me out on the Night Move, take me out to the crowd). We plan to be your go-to resource for both of those major holidays, so let us know what you’ll be doing. We’re looking for some feedback to help us work out the logistics. Should we run all day? What are your thoughts? Do you blame your parents? Sorry, looks like I accidentally started psychoanalyzing you. Oops. But we still want your feedback about the other stuff.

If you’re not already our Facebook fan, now’s your chance to keep in touch and show your bus love! And it’s high time you started following the Night Move on Twitter! Tweet us stuff and we’ll tweet you back. It’ll be just like a conversation!

Good talk. See you out there!

Kisses,
The Bus

Greetings, Night Movers!

We hope your week is going well so far. And we have some new we think will make it even better. We interrupt your regularly scheduled Tuesday to bring you some VERY important announcements.

Starting this Friday, February 13, the Night Move is excited to announce some HUGE changes, including:

  • The ability to buy seats as you board the bus. You can still book online ahead of time at the Night Move, (now only $10 for an all-night pass), but passengers now have the option to book at the door for $6 each way (payable by credit card only).
  • An earlier start time. The bus will now run from 6pm to 3am, to accommodate those of you going to sporting events, concerts and dinners both uptown and downtown. Going to a Red Wings game? Ride the bus down, then hop on the People Mover to get to the Joe (FOR FREE — ask the driver for details).
  • The launch of our brand-new website with increased usability. Come take a look. Comments and critiques welcome.

Check out this weekend’s culinary road trip from Taste-full Tours and the Night Move: February 14 is the Pizza & Wine Lovers’ Tour. It’ll be way better than whatever else you were planning to do for Valentine’s Day. I promise. Sign up on the Upcoming Tours page of their website.

For all you social networkers out there, make sure to follow the Night Move on Twitter, and become our fan on Facebook! Let’s keep in touch, shall we?

Good talk. See you out there!

Kisses,
The Bus
